Paint Body Shop The large number of storms that have swept through one area of the country are keeping both repair companies and insurers on their toes. That's because the damage from these storms in Mankato, Minnesota, has wreaked havoc on automobiles and homes alike. The scene is poised to repeat itself across the nation as tropical storm season gets into full swing, so auto body shops better brace themselves for the onslaught of work hail and strong winds are certain to bring about.According to the Free Press, "The June combo platter of hail and tornadoes [in Makato]... continues to tax the resources of home and auto-repair entities" two months later. In fact, one auto body shop in the area estimates that it has "repaired 30 to 40 hail-dinged vehicles thus far with no let-up in sight."While such demand for their services is forcing auto body shop owners to work 14- to 16-hour days, they're not the only ones dodging the heat. Automobile owners who are reeling from the damaged sustained by their vehicles are also having to put in some overtime-in sniffing out auto body repair scams. The Valley Chronicle out of Hemet / San Jacinto, California, recently ran an article pointing out that some of these so-called "repairs only damage vehicle." The report highlights a vehicle owner whose cosmetically damaged truck prompted two men to knock on her door and offer to "get out the dent and repair the paint" for $70. As the icing on the cake, they also said they "would repair the damage and restore the paint on her 1993 Cadillac deVille."If the offer sounds like it was too good to be true, it was. When the vehicle owner "went out to examine the work when the men were finished, she found they had not only not done the work well, but had sprayed the back of her car with something yellow." Turns out the paint they used was house paint. After shelling out an additional $80 to the scam artists, the auto owner had the good sense to take her vehicles into a professional auto body shop to mitigate the damage. "The estimate came out to $591.80, which... is hundreds of dollars more than the original repairs would have cost" had she not fallen prey to her predators. To the victim's credit, the men presented themselves as auto body shop employees. Only later-too late for her wallet- would she discover that "the name of the shop is not listed in the Hemet phone book, nor is any auto body shop by the name they gave listed in surrounding communities."So how might she have protected herself? By entrusting her vehicles to a reputable auto body shop with a longstanding tradition within the community. Having a team of auto body professionals who work with the objective of getting you back on the road quickly and with the confidence that your vehicle has been restored to your complete satisfaction is worth the extra initial investment. With your vehicle in the capable hands of an auto body shop that is known throughout the community as a leader in quality collision repair, you can rest assured that no knock-offs or cheap imitations will ever be used. You can also enjoy the confidence that your repair will be guaranteed to measure up to your exacting standards.

Certified Collision Repair Center From minor bumps to high-speed crashes, most car accidents result in damages that require the expertise of an auto body repair shop. Collision repair isn't always simple. Even minor accidents can cause auto body damage that is expensive and timely to repair. The type of impact and the style of the damaged car both play a role in determining how much damage has occurred.Determining a Total LossMany drivers think that there's no hope if their insurance company says that their car is 'totaled.' A car that is totaled is not necessarily unrepairable though. The extent of the damage has very little to do with whether or not an insurance company declares a total loss. Instead, the decision is based on the costof the collision repair in comparison to the fair market value of the car. If repairing the auto body damage will cost more than the car is worth, it is said to be totaled.Structural DamageCorrecting damage to a vehicle's frame is one of the most expensive types of collision repair, but undoing structural damage is not impossible. A knowledgeable auto body repair shop will generally inspect a wrecked vehicle for misalignment before anything else. If the car doesn't meet the exact measurements of the manufacturer, advanced machines are used to pull the frame back to its original specifications.Rear End CollisionsDepending on the speed, a car that is rear ended can suffer quite a bit of damage. Structural damage is not uncommon after a powerful rear collision. The amount of damage will also depend on the car. In a recent IIHS study, a low-speed rear end collision in a compact car with a poorly designed bumper can result in more than $3,500 in auto body damage. On the other hand, a car with dent-resistant plastic body panels can often be repaired for less than $200.Frontal ImpactsFront-end collision repair is often more extensive than rear end damage. At higher speeds, a head-on collision can cause damage to the front bumper, the hood, the windshield, and the quarter panels. If the damage is minor, the auto body technician may choose to repair the panels rather than replace them. Unless the parts are pre-painted, the body shop will also have to match the paint color and re-spray each panel before reassembling the car.RolloversA car that rolls over generally has much more auto body damage than a vehicle involved in a frontal or rear end crash. Damage to the frame is usually inevitable in a rollover. There is a possibility that every piece of the car has suffered at least minor body damage. The decision to repair a vehicle that has rolled over should be made carefully. Extensive damage like this could require additional mechanical work, as well.Whether auto body damage appears to be major or minor, an experienced collision repair specialist should examine the car for unseen damage. Accidents can cause cosmetic damage that is fairly easy to repair, as well as frame damage or mechanical troubles that are much more costly to fix. Almost any type of collision damage can be repaired, but sometimes it is more cost efficient to scrap the vehicle. Paint Body Shop
